SYNOPSIS:

The Proposal: Adeline Rigby will live with Accountant Jack Foster and pretend to be his fake fiancée for one month in order for him to seal a promotion to partner. In return, Accountant Jack Foster will intimately tutor Adeline Rigby in French before she leaves for Paris where she will fulfill her dream of attending Le Cordon Bleu. The Terms: 1. Maintain distance. Three get-to-know-you dates before announcing their engagement will be tempting enough. 2. No kissing. Okay, fine. Three kisses. Maybe four. And neck kisses don’t count. 3. No touchy feely stuff. Or at least not too many public displays of touchy-feely stuff. 4. No sex. 5. All right, all right. One night of sex in order to be a believable engaged couple. 6. Two nights of mind-blowing sex to make sure first night wasn’t a fluke. 7. Absolutely, positively, no falling in love.

Review:

I'm a mix on how I am feeling regarding what rating I should give this book. I liked the characters and the plot. I thought there were moments of humor, and I like when a proclaimed comedy book delivers because I don't typically read books that are considered comedy. But I also felt like something was missing.

I liked both characters for a mix of reasons. Jack is such a sweet and caring guy, and very swoon-worthy. I loved his dog Dexter, and how Jack is with him. Adeline is very outspoken, and doesn't really hold back or think through what she is going to say before she says it.

The romance, though, I enjoyed Adeline and Jack together, but I felt like it felt rushed in the story. I don't think it was insta-love, but I still felt like it all happened kind of fast.

This is a great book to pick up. It's a companion novel in the Off-the-Wall Proposal series. I myself, will definitely be reading the first book, which is about Kinley, Jack's sister, and see how that flows with the story. I highly recommend reading this book, you don't need to read the "first" book in the series to be able to follow along.
