Review
4 stars
The premise of this story is what really made me want to read this book. I won't lie, 8/10 times I solely want to read a book based on the cover (which might not be the best way to go about it, but when you have a tbr of 2000 books, there has to be a way to decide) but this book was one of the rare times where I was like, cover's ok but the plot sounds absolutely amazing.
This book did not disappoint at all. At times, I was kind of frustrated with Jake, but at the same time sympathetic of what he was going through. I loved Audra, she was such a well-written character, and not just a well-written but a very relatable character.
I loved the romance, but I felt like this story was more than just a romance story. It was about second chances, dealing with past trauma, and organ donation and how that affects family, especially when you're the person who has the organ (in this case, heart) of a beloved family member.
Amazing! I highly recommend this book if you are into NA or Adult romance. It's a wonderful story, and I felt at times emotional.
ABOUT LINDSEY FRYDMAN
Lindsey has been writing since she was nine years old, when she discovered the awesomeness that is Harriet the Spy. Her books always include a romance, though sometimes there’s an added sci-fi or magical realism twist. She lives in Columbus, Ohio (where the weather is never quite right). Her BFA in Photography and Graphic Design has granted her a wide assortment of creative knowledge that serves as inspiration (and not much else). When she’s not crafting YA and NA stories, you’ll likely find her spending waaay too much time on Pinterest, playing a video game, singing show-tunes, or performing in a burlesque show—because she enjoys giving her introversion a worthy adversary. (Plus, it’s the closest to Broadway she’ll ever get.) Lindsey was a proud 2016 Pitch Wars Mentee and thoroughly adores being a part of the wonderful writing community. THE HEARTBEAT HYPOTHESIS is her debut novel.Website | Facebook | Twitter | Pinterest | Instagram | Goodreads | Newsletter | Amazon Author Profile
